What Can You Expect?
The first appointment generally begins by asking about your current physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress level, and painful areas.
For a full-body massage, you will be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort. Undressing takes place in private, and a sheet, towel or gown is provided for draping. The therapist will undrape only the part of your body being massaged, ensuring that your modesty is respected at all times. Your massage will take place in a comfortable atmosphere and on a cushioned table. You should expect a peaceful, relaxing experience.

What is Therapeutic Massage?
Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and, to promote health and wellness. It comes in many forms, including:

  • Swedish -- a gentle relaxing massage using long strokes, kneading and friction techniques
  • Lomi Lomi -- a Hawaiian rhythmic massage predominantly using the soft part of the forearm
  • Reflexology -- massage based around a system of points in the hands and feet thought to correspond, or "reflex," to all areas of the body
  • Hot Stone Massage -- a powerful combination of pressure, heat, and coolness using warm stones and oil
  • Deep Tissue -- releases chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure
  • Sports massage -- focuses on muscle groups relevant to the particular sport
  • Treatment -- differs from relaxation massage in the amount of verbal exchange between therapist & client and focuses on soft tissues of the body causing pain and/or dysfunction
  • On-site Massage (also known as seated massage) - is administered while the client is clothed and seated in a specially designed chair.
